Weird Movie Wednesday: Rabid Grannies

Welcome to Weird Movie Wednesday, where talk about the weirdest movies that I can find and boy, do I have a treat for you. Today's pick comes from Troma Land, the land where the weird reside. It's a fave and if you haven't seen it then you are totally missing out. The title of our movie is Rabid Grannies.  Rabid Grannies is about two elderly women who have invited their extended family to their birthday party. The grannies are very wealthy and the family who arrive are only there to ensure their placement in the grannies will. They wear false smiles and bring gifts to make their grannies smile. Everything seems to be going well for all at the party. There is great food, plenty of wine, and loads of presents. The whole night is a great success until an unexpected guest drops by, leaving only a gift for the two birthday girls. We learn that the present was gifted by a ostracized family member who the group no longer has any contact with. In a note, we learn of their goodwi

Friday Frights Review: Funhouse Massacre

Hello and welcome back to Friday Frights Review. Tonight's special feature is, in my opinion, an underrated classic called  Funhouse Massacre . I watched this movie a couple of weekends ago, as well as some other movies, while skimming through Amazon Prime video. They have free movies for people who pay for that service. At first I thought it was going to be a low budget film that was more cringy than scary. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Funhouse Massacre stars a slew of unknowns with special appearances by a couple of horror icons including Clint Howard, Courtney Gains, and Freddy Kruger himself, Robert Englund. Our story begins in a criminal asylum that houses the worst of the worst. Six of the deadliest killers that have ever lived reside here. The residents of the hospital include a cannibal chef, a human taxidermist, a sadistic dentist, a manipulative cult leader, and a giant clown. The sixth psycho comes in the form of a tiny clown girl who helps the other five escape t

Weird Movie Wednesday: Garbage Pail Kids the Movie

Welcome back to Weird Movie Wednesday. where we take a look at some of the obscurest movies out there. Today, in honor of my little anniversary, I will be reviewing the 80's cult classic, Garbage Pail Kids   Movie . It's a story about a young boy with a dream, a crush, and a gaggle of horrendous kids from outer space.   *I am spoiling the movie, so if you don't want to know what happens, then skip to the end!!!* The story begins with our main character Dodger, played by Mackenzie Astin, being assaulted by lead bully Juice and his gang. After stealing his money and throwing him in a puddle, Dodger retreats to the antique shop where he works. While cleaning himself up, Dodger is told to avoid a mysterious trash can by his boss Manzini. Our boy Dodger is a sweet little underdog who pines after the lovely Tangerine, Juice's girlfriend. It is while she is in the antique shop that Juice and his boys run in to torment our Dodger once again. A little scuffle breaks out, cau

A surprise Anniversary!!!

Hello and welcome back to a very special post. Today is the 4 year anniversary of me drawing and sharing my drawings on Instagram. Let me give you a little back story. I was looking through my Instagram the other day and decided to scroll all the way down to my very first post when I stumbled upon the first drawing that I ever shared with the online world. I was pretty new to drawing and I can only imagine that I was really proud of what I had drawn. You see, I am self taught and the drawing clearly shows that. However, as I was looking fondly at this blast from the past I got it in my noggin to share this with you. Instead of just showing you this picture I have decided to recreate the same drawing and compare the two. This is sort of a post to show how I have improved and to celebrate the fact that I have been drawing steadily for the past 4 years. It doesn't seem so long but I have been drawing almost daily since then. I extremely proud of how I have improved and would like to s

Friday Fright's Movie Review: Terrifier

Welcome back to my Friday Frights Movie Review! This is the day of the week where I select one horror movie to help kick start the spooks for your weekend. This week I have selected the sequel to the indie classic All Hallows Eve , Terrifier. You do not have to watch the first one to enjoy the second. In my opinion, these two movies are uniquely different from each other in the most delightfully despicable way. The one thing they have in common is the ever so creepy Art the Clown. A little synopsis for you my fiends. I'm not going to spoil this one for you. Instead I will provide a little movie background, choose my favorite scene, and basically fan girl out over this one. I will even show off a little bit of my fan art for this movie. Trust me, once you see this clown you will fan girl                                             over him, too. That is, if you are not afraid of clowns. Terrifier is about two young women who are in search of a little refuge after having a wil

Weird Movie Wednesday:Popcorn

Welcome to Weird Movie Wednesday, where I talk about my favorite oddball horror films. I love horror movies that are so bad that you laugh more than you jump. The more awful fake blood, incoherent story lines and cheesey one-liners the better! So, let me stop chit chatting away and let's jump right into one of my favorite movies of all time... Popcorn . *If you have never seen this movie and wish to not have it spoiled for yourself, then skip to the end. Don't worry I will put a little note for you so you can still read why this is one of the best movies ever!!!* Popcorn is a 1991 classic starring Jill Schoelen, Tom Villard, and horror icon Dee Wallace. The movie is about film student Maggie (Schoelen) and her life as a college student, every horrifying twist and turn of it. Maggie is suffering with a recurring nightmare about a young girl named Sarah running from a man through bellowing smoke. Maggie, like any good artist, turns her night terrors into art as she tries to

Friday Frights Movie Review: The Autopsy of Jane Doe

Today I will be reviewing a movie that I recently saw. I will be doing this every Friday about movies that I love or ones that I just saw. It can be old, it can be new but one thing is for sure...it will be scary. This weeks post is about  The Autopsy of Jane Doe . It is available on Netflix as of 1/1/2019 for those of you who have that service. Before we get to what I thought about this movie, a brief summary. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is about  father and son coroners and the autopsy they perform on one Jane Doe. As father and son attempt to close up shop one night the towns sheriff comes in with an urgent task for the duo; to determine the cause of death on Jane Doe by morning. The woman on the table is young, beautiful, and appears to have no visible marks or injuries. Perhaps the wounds are internal? There is only one way to find out. As the autopsy continues more and more clues are given about the young woman, but still the cause of death cannot be found. As they dissect further

My First Drawing of the New Year!

So, here's the first bit of horror mania I have to offer to you. This is my interpretation of the Tarman from Return of the Living Dead. Always a classic, I have been a big fan of this movie ever since I was a little kid. I have done several drawings inspired by this movie, but I have never drawn the Tarman. Just a disclaimer, I am not selling this piece without checking into the laws about selling fan art, so at this moment this is just that...fan art. As you may or may not be able to tell, my signature is in the bottom right hand corner of the drawing and I did have to enhance it with an editor because you couldn't really see it in the original. The color scheme comes from my love of pop art and 80s throw backs. What makes this image special to me is that it is my first official drawing of the year and is one that I am extremely proud of. What a more perfect way to kick off the year than with the Tarman. If you like this than you will probably enjoy all the other stuff I hav
