FearStyle Friday: Firestarter

Happy FearStyle Friday, everyone! This week has been eventful...well, for books in my life, anyway. I have mentioned before that I love every facet of the horror genre, including books. And who better brings the horror than Stephen King? I'm a huge fan and have a lot of his books. This week I finished his heartfelt, yet equally horrifying, Firestarter. Let's talk about it. I loved this book. Loved it. Even the ending, that ever so classic Stephen King ending. Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything for you. I want you to read it. I will tell you that I was so happy with the ending that I went back to make sure what was happening was really happening. I know, my details are vauge, so I will give you a jist of the story and divulge some of my fave moments. The story is about a man who has been apart of medical experiment that resulted in his telekenetic ability. Years later, he and a woman who also attended the experiment, all those years ago, had themselves a

Weird Movie Wednesday: The Stuff

Happy weird movie Wednesday! Today we are talking about a cult favorite and one of my dad's favorite horror movies, The Stuff. This one is dedicated to dad because today is his birthday! And this is his horror contribution to my life. Let's begin. The Stuff is about an FBI agent, angent 'Mo' Rutherford as he investigates the newest food craze called The Stuff. A sweet and creamy substance that is guaranteed to satisfy. It'll help you loose weight, too! What people don't know is that it is a living parasite that has been dug up from the earth, marketed well and sold to the public. What's worse is that the stuff turns you into stuff guzzling zombies. One young boy sees the change the stuff has causes in his friends and family and decides that he needs to put a stop to it before it's too late. This is when he crosses paths with the FBI agent, who saves him from his zombie family. The two meet up with Mo's girlfriends, and the trio take off t

FearStyle Friday: Bunnicula

Hoppy FearStyle Friday! I hope you are all feeling the Easter feeling. Today's post is coming in a little late because of the severe weather in my area. I haven't been able to log on, so this is the best I could do, given the circumstances. So, to put you in a Easter mood, with a horror twist, I present to you the tale of Bunnicula ! Bunnicula is a book series that features a veggie sucking bunny named, you guessed it, Bunnicula, a dog named Harold, and a cat named Chester. Fun fact, I had a cat named Chester as a kid, so that's cool. The little bunny has two tiny fangs and is named after their favorite movie, Dracula. Narrorated by Harold, the dog, the other pets find Bunnicula to be a little strange. They start to find veggies drained of all their color and notice that the bunny sleeps all day. Chester, the cat, reads up on vampires and decides that he needs to stop him before it's too late. Harold doesn't follow along with his antics and Chester's s

Weird Movie Wednesday: Motel Hell

Can you feel it? Spring is in the air and with the warming of the Earth comes the fruits of the season. We see animals awake from their winter slumber, flowers bloom, and deranged farmers planting and fattening up people for sausages? Today's movie pick is inspired by the warming weather and all the life I see forming around me. A movie about hillbilly siblings, the Motel Hello, and sausages that are free of preservatives. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Motel Hell . Motel Hell is about a couple of siblings that run a motel/smoke house. The motel is really a side business because their pride and joy is their homemade sausages. The big selling point is that they are free of preservatives. We quickly learn, however, that they are made of human flesh. Their victims are usually rascals, bums, people who won't be missed and are kept in a secret garden. In the secret garden, the victims are buried up to their necks and are fed through a tube until they are nice a p

FearStyle Friday: My Obsession With Horror Movie Countdowns!

Hello horror fans, hope you are having an awesome Friday! I have been super busy today, so this is a quick little post for you to hold you over until I finish my Pet Sematary Review. I realized while writing some today that I had A LOT to say about this years remake. So, it will definitely be a next week post. I didn't want to wait that long buuuuttttt it has been a week for me, let me tell you. As long as I get something out twice a week, I'm a happy lady. For today I decided I would talk about my recent obsession...Horror Movie Countdowns. Like reality television, I can't look away and I need more. Even if I don't completely agree with the countdown, I am glued to it. I have always liked to hear what other people have to say about my favorite movies/music/books/fashion/etc. I was a huge fan of VH1's I Love series, where they would talk about everything in a decade. I love the 70s, 80s, 90s, and millennium were life for me growing up and helped develop my love o
