Hey everybody, happy to be back once again for Weird Movie Wednesday (without the movie). I have a couple of Coolio things to share today and, as you can see from the title, it has to do with horror wreaths. Before I get into what they are and where you can get them, I have a little news about the state of the blog. I have been super duper busy the last couple of weeks due to some very exciting changes going on in life. To lighten the load a little I've gone back to just posting once a week instead of twice. There might be a FearStyle Friday every once in a while but only if the mood takes me (or if I have a little spare time). For now expect one post a week. I have in the works reviews on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (which I totally suggest you go and see) and other horror classics. Some oddball ones too, so don't go anywhere because they're coming. Happy FearStyle Friday, everyone. This weeks post is about the film adaptation of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. I went to see an early showing of the horror film last week and all I have to say is that I loved it. I felt like it was brilliant in delivering the source material in a fresh way. I won't spoil the events of the film because it is still in theaters (and it was a great theater experience) but I will talk about the things I enjoyed most and the overall atmosphere the movie provided. Scary Stories begins on Halloween night but the terror goes beyond the night of the dead as an ominous presence follows our hero's around their Pennsylvania town. Between the lighting of the film and the look of the characters the movie felt like November in the 60's. The kids cast, in my opinion, perfectly portrayed  outsiders and social misfits and you felt for them as the story went on. I interrupt your regularly scheduled Weird Movie Wednesday for a pre movie movie expectations. Normally I go into a movie with my movie expectations relatively low, just in case the movie really sucks. Tonight's movie, however, raises the bar for me and other fans of the horror genre and fans of Quentin Tarantino. Tonight I am taking in a viewing of his 9th film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. It's needless to say that I am really looking forward to this movie. My expectations are appropriately high for this film, especially after all the things I've heard about it. Not to forget that this is a Tarantino film and he is King. Every story he has written has been gold. You will be hard pressed to find someone who disagree's with me on this one. This time, he takes us back to the late 60s and the historic horrors that occured in the summer of '69. Hello horror fans and welcome to a special spur of the moment Thursday. I have been too busy to write for this last week but today I've got a little something for you to chew on. As most of you know that I am a big horror novel fan, it is my favorite genre in literature and I feel like I read'em all. As a child my favorite collection of horror stories was Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. They were scarier than Goosebumps but not too scary to give me nightmares. The perfect read for a 10 year old.
