Happy FearStyle Friday, everyone! Welcome to another spur of the moment Friday list. I've been swamped all day just running the daily chores and taking the family puppies to the vet. I could use a good movie night, couldn't you? Today's post is really just a small compilation of a couple of movies that would be fun to watch. This is not limited to just what you can watch at home, for I am a big fan of going to the theater, so grab your popcorn and let's watch some movies.
1) Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Now, I'm not a huge fan of this franchise but boy do I love the horror movie experience of going into a dark theater and getting scared...even if it is just at a few jump scares (which I don't like). As always, this movie follows all the other conjuring films where Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate the paranormal. However, this is one is isolated in their own home where they house several possessed items of evil! This included Annabelle (of course) and, from what I know, the Warren's daughter, her friends, and babysitter get themselves into spooky situations. I'm sure spooks-galore as the girls navigate the horrifying entities to come. I hope to go and see this one because I never watch these movies outside of the theater. Mostly because I don't think they hold up well on the small screen. Let's move on.
2) Evil Dead 1-3 (1981, 1987,1992)
Not feeling like going out tonight? No worries, Sam Raimi has got you covered. Turn off all the lights and watch these movies back to back to back and try not to get scared of these soul hungry demons. I love these movies and binge watch them regularly. Its all about a cabin in the woods, deadites, and Bruce Campbell. If there is any reason to watch this movie, other than the demons (and special effects therein) its Bruce Campbell. Plus, these movies are really rad and movie for young filmmakers as Raimi was just a kid with a camera when he made the first one. It is truly scary and such a staple of the horror genre. I don't want to spoil anything for you but I will be making a post about these movies before too long. I'm such a fan of these movies, I even have an Evil Dead lunch box.
3) Slaughter High (1986)
Any good movie night at my house has to include this 80s cult classic. This is a classic tale of revenge. Having been bullied and horribly mutilated in high school, Marty takes his revenge in the guise of a class reunion...or has he? The ending is kind of confusing but the 80s gore is all there. Give this one a go, its a fun watch. In fact, I might watch this one tonight myself. If you don't want to watch it then you can read about it right here, on this very blog. I don't want to pressure you, but it is there.
4) Child's Play (2019)
I don't necessarily recommend this one for the film itself, but if you are craving a movie experience you can do a lot worse than this one. If you have read my last post on this movie, then you pretty much know all about it, but I don't think the experience will be lost on you. It's nothing like the original (other than the names) and you might take something from it that I didn't. Then we could chat about it. Plus, seeing Chucky on the big screen, in any regard, is kind of fun.
So there ya go, that's my list Friday Night movies. Some I've seen, some I haven't. This isn't my first last minuet movie list and I'm sure it won't be the last. If nothing else, maybe this list will inspire a movie night of your own. Let me know what you thought of this weeks list in the comment section below, follow me by clicking the tab in the menu, and follow me on social media. I'm almost always there (when I'm not doing something else). Until next time, stay spooky!
