The plot of both films is about some young adults throwing a Valentine's Day Party after years of ignoring the holiday because of an urban legend that plagues the town. The legends are found to be true, when a miner comes back for vengeance. Lovers beware, because he and his pick ax are coming for you.
Let's talk about the pro's and con's, starting with the pro's of the remake. The very best thing about the remake is Tom Atkins. Tom Atkins is the bomb and if you don't know who I am talking about I am going to point you in the direction of the movies Night of the Creeps and Halloween III: Season of the Witch. He is classic, but more on him later. All you need to know is that he plays the sheriff and its awesome. Plus, the movie was in 3D and that is pretty rad. I know that it is gimmicky and silly, but I always enjoy a 3D movie, especially when it is a horror movie. That's about it. The original is filled with cheesy, 80s fun and goodness. It is a sweet blend of hilarity, horror and originality. A true classic, I love it.

All in all, I feel like the original is better, bu that was a given from me. I don't hate on the remake too much, it has it's enjoyable moments. I suggest that you give it a go for yourself if you like remakes. Maybe you will enjoy this one. Plus, it is the weekend, treat yourself with a little marathon. Watch both of them, I think I will. Anyways, that's all I have for you today. Happy Post Valentine's Day. Have a good weekend, and stay spooky.
